ABOUT THE EVENT:
The Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency – The Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) via its Regional Climate Action Transparency Hub for Central Asia (ReCATH) are jointly organizing a workshop on the topic of tracking progress of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) titled “Deep-dive into tracking NDC mitigation commitments under the Paris Agreement”.
This training is a technical hands-on dive into NDC tracking and aims at:
- Enhancing technical understanding of country experts responsible for reporting NDC mitigation commitments under the Paris Agreement of the goals, principles, and actions associated with the reporting process for NDC mitigation commitments.
- Providing these national mitigation experts with useful information, tools and experiences to facilitate their reporting on mitigation action including defining and developing appropriate indicators.
- Training national experts on the use of the Common Tabular Formats (CTF) for tracking progress made in implementing and achieving NDCs.
- Exchanging experiences and lessons learned among peer experts from the countries of Eurasia, Central Asia and the Caucasus corresponding to the application of tools and systems for mitigation assessment and reporting.
- Identifying common challenges and opportunities for collaboration among country experts on mitigation assessment and tracking progress.
