My national inventory report is not yet complete, and I am concurrently working on NDC indicators projections. Can I use an emissions estimate for my most recent GHG inventory reporting year as the starting point for my projections on NDC progress?

GHG Projections should clearly document the “data, methodologies, and assumptions used,” so that others can understand and replicate projections based on the information in the BTR. It would be acceptable to use the data from an earlier publication, or an assumption based on earlier inventory reporting, as long as it well-documented in the report. In any case, this can be listed as a “Data Gap” and an area for future improvement in the BTR sections on future needs.
