National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Technical Consultant - CBIT Honduras

The UNEP LAC Office based in Panama is providing technical support to the Honduran government and will assist in the implementation of the Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) project, in collaboration with the Secretariat of Natural Resources and Environment (SERNA by Spanish acronym) of Honduras. This project aims to establish an integrated monitoring system for climate change in Honduras, as a tool to collect, monitor, evaluate and report progress in the implementation of climate actions in the country. The National Climate Change Monitoring System (SNMCC by Spanish acronym) will consolidate various existing climate change information platforms in the country, serving as the official source of climate information for national and international reports. It will address mitigation and adaptation actions, as well as means of implementation, to track Honduras' Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in alignment with the goals of the Paris Agreement.

In this context, the Climate Change Unit of UNEP's LAC Office is recruiting a National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Consultant to support a capacity building scheme in coordination with relevant stakeholders to enhance participation in climate action processes to train personnel from the National Directorate of Climate Change (DNCC by Spanish acronym) in the implementation of a National Greenhouse Gas Inventory System (SINGEI by Spanish acronym).
