This is episode 6 of a joint webinar series of the UNFCCC Secretariat and GIZ on Methodologies for GHG Baselines and Monitoring in the Transport Sector. Marlan Pillay (Program Officer, UNFCCC) will moderate the webinar and open the session, thereafter Mr. Fernandez (representative of the Consultative Group of Experts on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention (CGE)) will give an insight into CGE´s work on MRV and climate action. Subsequently, Elena Scherer (Advisor, Transport and Climate Change, GIZ) will provide an overview of Chapter 6 of the UNFCCC´s Baseline Compendium, namely “Shift Mode of Freight Transport from Road to Rail or Water”. UNFCCC CDM technical experts, Mr. G. Hedge and Mr. E. Cardoso Filho will then introduce applications of CDM methodologies specific to the topic.
