CBIT-GSP and RECC Azerbaijan organized the Side-Event on Best Practices for BTR Development at COP29

November 16th, 2024, Baku, Azerbaijan: The Side-Event Best Practices for BTR Development in Eurasia, Asia and the Caucasus was organized in Azerbaijan Pavilion, at COP-29 and brought together the high-level officials from Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Japan, support providers from UNFCCC, UNEP and UNDP, IGES, and FAO, experts and practitioners from different countries to learn about best practices, success stories, and lessons learned from Azerbaijan, Japan, Georgia and Turkiye, which have already compiled their Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1).

The event offered key insights into the BTR process, highlighted technical challenges, and provided hands-on recommendations to support other countries in meeting their transparency goals. On other other hand, UNFCCC, UNEP, UNDP, and FAO updated the participants about the support which is available under GEF and other sources umbrella to facilitate the development and submission of the parties' BTRs.
