16 November, 2024, Baku, Azerbaijan: Side-event on National Transparency Systems for Tracking Data-driven Climate Action brought together high-level officials from Azerbaijan, Turkiye, UNFCCC, UNEP and UNDP to discuss the importance of data driven systems for tracking NDC progress and enhanced transparency efforts in compiling the information for climate reporting under the UNFCCC. 

The main objective of the side-event was to improve the knowledge of participating country parties on operational and emerging national MRV and transparency systems. This event facilitated peer-to-peer exchange between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Belize and strengthened collaboration among the countries, helping them build more robust MRV systems and advance global climate action.
