Regional Practical Training: Mitigation MRV, Monitoring and Evaluation of Adaptation Measures and NDC Tracking in Central Asian countries
to Asia/Ashgabat
Location: Ashgabat, Turkmenistan

The primary objective of this practical regional training is to enhance technical capacities of national experts in Central Asia, focusing on data collection and processing for reporting elements related to climate mitigation, tracking, adaptation, and transparency within the Enhanced Transparency Framework. The training aims to build expertise in climate change reporting requirements, data collection methods, formats, and deadlines under the Paris Agreement.

Furthermore, participants will gain insight into ICAT (Initiative for Climate Action Transparency) methodology and tools for assessing greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector.

The seminar also promotes knowledge exchange among colleagues, drawing lessons from assignments to understand how adaptation monitoring and mitigation MRV align with current institutional mechanisms. Strong and weak aspects, including tool utilization, will be identified and data gaps addressed through source mapping. The training fosters a deep understanding of data collection methods, adaptation, and the application of tools and templates for data gathering and presentation.
