In February – March 2023 the two preparatory webinars on GHGI (category-specific methodology) and a week-long GHG Inventory training workshop were conducted to solidify and improve the knowledge base and practical skills in compiling GHG inventory for most problematic categories (2.F and 4.A), and GHG inventory data management with the overarching goal to strengthen the technical capacity of national experts in Central Asia to improve data collection and processing systems for the preparation of greenhouse gas inventories.
This practical regional training seminar has three main objectives: strengthening institutional arrangements for national greenhouse gas inventories, improving reporting quality aligned with IPCC Guidelines, and addressing cross-sectoral challenges like QA/QC, Key Category Analysis, and Uncertainty Analysis. Attendees will enhance practical skills and learn to document inventory systems using IPCC methodology. Peer learning, tool understanding, and uncertainty analysis guidance are integral components, contributing to more effective greenhouse gas inventories in Central Asia.
