As part of implementing Output 1.2 the Ministry of Environment through the CBIT project has identified a team of qualified and experienced consultants in the field of GHG inventory compilation, reporting and training. The Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development Institute (ECSDI) from the University of Zimbabwe partnership with a team of international experts from the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI) was awarded the consultancy. The GHGMI is an internationally renowned technical institute with vast experience in GHG Inventories and associated trainings. The Consultants will support the Government of Zimbabwe to develop and adapt tools, systems and templates to enable the country to compile and submit accurate and transparent GHG inventories, track its NDC implementation as required by the Paris agreement under the ETF. It is against this background that an inception meeting between the Consultants and the Project Management Unit (PMU) and key personnel from the department is being proposed. Objectives of the meeting are to:  agree on the proposed methodological approach and timeframes for the assignment,  appraise the consultant’s inception report for GHG inventory capacity building and MRV system for the country and,  Approve the consultant’s inception report.
