Brittany Meighan Rancharan is the Regional Network Coordinator for the Anglophone Caribbean within the CBIT-GSP project. Her role involves supporting transparency and climate reporting (ETF) within the English-speaking countries in the Caribbean region.
She has over six years experience of direct involvement in the Caribbean, including successfully collaborating with government and non-government stakeholders in
providing technical and institutional guidance on GHG inventories, mitigation and NDC scenario development, MRV framework implementation, policy development and negotiation support to the Caribbean region's UNFCCC focal points and technical teams.
Her experience has been dedicated to strengthening regional capacity to meet requirements under the Paris Agreement and Enhanced Transparency Framework, contributing to the capacity of at least 100 experts across the Caribbean.
Since 2018, she has been a part of the UNFCCC roster of experts and a member of the Technical Team of Experts, participating in reviews of GHG Inventories, REDD+ reports, and capacity and financial support chapters for developing countries.
She is also an alumna of the Alliance of Small Island States’ (AOSIS) Fellowship programme, where she supported the world’s most climate vulnerable island nations in UN negotiations in Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Oceans on relevant issues of law, policy, and science.
Brittany holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) in Brazil, and a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science from Galen University (Belize) and the University of Indianapolis (USA).
