Ms. Nailia Timerkhanova (Mustaeva) is the Regional Network Coordinator for Central Asia and the Caucasus within the CBIT-GSP project. She works on transparency and climate reporting (ETF) with seven Russian-speaking countries, incl. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Nailia has more than 15 years of experience in climate change, particularly, on climate adaptation and mitigation, climate reporting and over the past few years she was deeply involved to the UNDP/ UNEP/ GEF/ FCDO (Great Britain) and ICAT/CAREC projects on transparency, MRV and Enhanced Transparency Frameworks (ETF) as well as on climate policy. For example, Nailia was the Regional Network Coordinator on Transparency and MRV in Central Asia and the Caucasus within the UNDP/UNEP Global Support Programme and pioneered in setting-up a regional network of experts to exchange and share on the topic.
Since 2017 until nowadays, Ms. Timerkhanova continues working with the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus in the capacity of international consultant on climate change and provides technical assistance on the topics of climate policy and reporting, MRV and transparency, climate resilience and mitigation, M&E and evaluation.
Nailia holds a MS Degree in Environmental Sciences and Policy from the Central European University (CEU), Budapest, Hungary.
