Technical Analysis of First Biennial Transparency Report of Mongolia. The CBIT Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) has been requested to conduct a review of Mongolia's first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) prior to its submission to the UNFCCC. By implementing robust QA-QC checks, Mongolia aims to improve the quality and accuracy of its greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, enhance transparency and credibility, and fulfill its international reporting obligations. These efforts will strengthen the country’s capacity to support effective climate change mitigation and adaptation measures while fostering confidence in the reliability of its reported data. Additionally, this approach will enable Mongolia to actively engage in international climate discussions and partnerships.

In addition to conducting a thorough technical analysis of Mongolia’s first BTR, the CBIT-GSP provided extensive hands-on support to the national team throughout the review process. This support went far beyond the standard two or three virtual meetings—it consisted of seven to eight in-depth, interactive sessions tailored to address the specific needs and technical questions raised by the Mongolian team. These comprehensive discussions enabled the country team to systematically revise and enhance the BTR in alignment with UNFCCC reporting requirements. By fostering real-time learning and capacity-building, this collaborative approach significantly strengthened the country’s ownership of the process and ensured that the final submission reflects both accuracy and transparency.
