The CBIT Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) and UNEP CCC successfully conducted a comprehensive series of five webinars on "Adaptation Reporting under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) of the Paris Agreement" from September to October 2024. The series brought together climate change experts and government officials from across the Asia Transparency Network, with more than 120 active participants registering and engaging throughout the program.

Led by Regional Network Coordinator for Eurasia, Sladjana Bundalo, the series provided in-depth coverage of adaptation reporting requirements, from foundational concepts to practical implementation strategies. The webinars featured valuable country presentations from Bangladesh and Vietnam, showcasing real-world experiences in adaptation reporting. The final sessions included insights from Japan and Indonesia, offering perspectives from both developed and developing country contexts.

The series systematically covered crucial aspects of adaptation reporting, including national circumstances, legal frameworks, vulnerability assessments, adaptation actions, monitoring and evaluation systems, and loss and damage reporting. Interactive sessions and group discussions enabled participants to share experiences and challenges, fostering regional cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Particularly noteworthy was the strong participation from almost all Asian countries, with over 120 experts actively engaging in the sessions, demonstrating the region's strong commitment to enhanced transparency in climate action. The consistently high attendance and engagement throughout the series highlighted the pressing need for capacity building in adaptation reporting. The webinar series has significantly contributed to building regional capacity for adaptation reporting under the ETF, setting a strong foundation for countries' first BTR submissions.

Representatives from participating countries expressed appreciation for the practical guidance and opportunities for peer learning, highlighting the series' role in demystifying the new reporting requirements under the Paris Agreement's Enhanced Transparency Framework.
