Webinar: The development of long-term low-emissions development strategies - recommendations and sharing of experience
to Europe/Copenhagen
Location: online

Parties to the Paris Agreement are called to formulate and communicate long-term low GHG emission development strategies (LT-LEDS) with their national pathways for GHG emission until 2050 and beyond. These LT-LEDS are a fundamental tool available for countries to envision the alignment of low-emission development with broader sustainability, socio-economic and climate change adaptation goals. This webinar will have two talks. In the first talk, the Ministry of Environment of Chile will share their experience on the development of their climate change strategy. The second talk will provide an overview of what are LT-LEDS, what elements they should include, and will look in detail into why and how LT-LEDS should be aligned with short and mid-term climate goals, based on the recent publications from OECD on this mater. The webinar will be in English. There will be time for questions during the webinar.
