Introduction

Session IV will emphasize the link between the NDC 3.0 development process and BTR development

The webinar will enhance understanding of the link between the NDC 3.0 development process and the process of tracking NDC  progress made in implementing and achieving its NDC under Article 4.

The webinar will provide an opportunity for countries to share examples of how they developed the first BTR and, specifically, the NDC Chapter. The experiences of countries will emphasize 

  • Tracking of Policy Actions and Measures
  • Inventory tracking
  • GHG tracking

Approach

The series is a mixed approach of presentations, quizzes, and sharing lessons learned to enhance learning and develop an NDC tracking chapter of the BTR that contains the information necessary to track progress made in implementing and achieving their NDC. The series will be delivered in four sessions based on MPG provisions from paragraph 59 to paragraph 103.

Country participants will understand how they can develop smart indicators toward achieving their NDC targets and apply flexibility and completeness requirements to the NDC chapter of BTR.

Objective

The main objective of this webinar series is to share knowledge and enhance learning on developing an NDC tracking chapter of the BTR that is information necessary to track progress made in implementing and achieving their NDC. 

Specific objective:

  • Build the capacity of countries in developing the NDC tracking chapter of the BTR 
  • Enhance the capacity of countries to prepare, communicate, and maintain successive nationally determined contributions (NDCs)
